Ziggo Dome is an indoor arena in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with 73 upcoming events listed on our platform. It opened on 24 June 2012 and has a standard capacity of 17,000, with some layouts reaching 19,000 visitors. The building is known for its exterior facade of 840,000 LED lights and a black-box interior designed to improve acoustics and sightlines, which matters for buyers comparing Ziggo Dome tickets across floor and tiered sections.

The venue does not have a permanent home team, but it regularly hosts major concerts and selected sporting events such as the Korfbal League Final and international futsal. Demand is usually strongest for global tour dates, sold-out weekend shows, and premium floor setups where availability tightens quickly. When primary allocations are gone, SeatPin offers access through a verified seller network.

Why is it called Ziggo Dome?

Ziggo Dome is called Ziggo Dome because the name comes from a naming rights agreement with Ziggo, the Dutch cable television and broadband company. The sponsorship was agreed during the planning phase before the arena opened in June 2012. “Dome” was chosen to signal a major indoor entertainment building, even though the structure itself is square rather than domed.

The arena has never had a previous name. It was branded as Ziggo Dome from the start of construction and has kept that identity ever since. Unlike some venues that switch between sponsor and local names, there is no separate non-commercial public name used for this building in Amsterdam.

Where are the best seats in Ziggo Dome?

The best seats in Ziggo Dome are usually in Ring 1, especially blocks 103, 104, 110, and 111, with the first ten rows offering the strongest balance of proximity and clear sightlines. These sections give a direct view of the stage without the distance of Ring 2 and without the flat-floor visibility issues that can affect shorter visitors in standing layouts.

The floor can be excellent for atmosphere, especially at a major Concert, but the experience depends heavily on stage design and crowd density. Buyers who want a premium experience should look at the Member Club and Live Avenue, where upholstered seating and dedicated hospitality services add comfort before and during the show. If you want grouped seats for a shared night out, SeatPin is useful for finding seated-together options.

How do I get to Ziggo Dome on event day?

Ziggo Dome is easiest to reach via Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station, which is about a five minute walk from the entrance. The station is served by train, metro, and bus, making it the main arrival point for most visitors on event day. From Amsterdam Centraal, the journey usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes by train or metro.

Metro lines 50 and 54 stop at Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA, and bus lines 44, 47, 49, and 66 also serve the area. Drivers can use nearby parking garages such as P1, P2, P3, and P-ArenA, with pre-booking recommended for busy nights. Cycling is another practical option, with bicycle racks near the station, and there is also a Kiss and Ride area under the building for quick drop-off and pick-up.

What is closest airport to Ziggo Dome?

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the closest airport to Ziggo Dome, at roughly 18 kilometers away. It is also the most practical choice because it offers a direct rail connection toward Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA, which keeps transfers simple for international visitors arriving on the same day as an event.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, about 18 km, primary international gateway with direct public transport links.
Lelystad Airport, about 55 km, mainly used for general aviation and private charter traffic.
Rotterdam The Hague Airport, about 72 km, a possible alternative for European routes.
Eindhoven Airport, about 118 km, useful for some low cost carrier schedules.
Antwerp International Airport, about 155 km, a more distant cross-border option.

A taxi from Amsterdam city centre to Ziggo Dome usually takes 15 to 25 minutes, but airport visitors often find rail travel more predictable on busy event nights because road traffic around the A10 and A2 can build up before doors open.

How early should you get to Ziggo Dome on event day?

You should aim to arrive at least 60 minutes before the scheduled start, and earlier for sold-out shows. Doors typically open 90 to 120 minutes before the event, which gives time for security screening, bag checks, and finding your section without rushing. For high-demand nights, the busiest entry period often hits in the final 30 minutes before showtime.

Do you need ID to get into Ziggo Dome?

Yes, you should bring valid photo ID to Ziggo Dome because staff may request it for identity checks, age verification, or ticket issues. A passport or driver's license is typically suitable. Checks are more likely if a digital scan fails, if alcohol is being purchased, or if a higher-security event uses name matching at the entrance.
