What does a settlement mean on Seatpin?

A settlement is a compensation payment or a penalty applied to a buyer or seller in certain cases. It is separate from a standard refund or dispute resolution because these situations need extra review or special handling.

Settlements are used in cases like these:

Compensation examples:

  • Price adjustment: If a seller sends replacement tickets at a higher price because of an earlier issue, Seatpin compensates the price difference.
  • Buyer compensation: In exceptional cases where a buyer is due compensation, the buyer must complete seller verification before compensation can be paid.

Penalty examples:

  • Seller non-delivery: If a seller does not deliver tickets, a penalty may be charged to their balance. This can range from the fee amount to the full amount paid by the buyer.
  • Honesty consideration: The size of the penalty depends on how closely the seller followed Seatpin's terms. If the seller has no available balance, their account may be restricted or blocked until the issue is resolved.

To receive monetary compensation as a buyer:

  1. Verify your identity by uploading a valid ID and proof of address.
  2. Update your profile with your payout preferences, for example banking details.
  3. Submit a payout request by following the platform instructions.

If needed, customer support will guide you through the process.

Seatpin uses a settlement process for three reasons:

  • Fairness: Buyers and sellers are compensated or penalized based on the circumstances.
  • Security: Transactions and disputes are handled transparently.
  • Trust: It helps keep Seatpin a reliable marketplace for all users.

These rules help keep the platform secure and dependable.
