When will I get paid for tickets I sold?

Accepted Answer

Most payouts for sold tickets are sent within 8 business days after the event. This timing lets us confirm there were no issues with your tickets and includes processing time, but it does not include local bank holidays.As part of our seller verification process, sellers may be asked to complete identity verification before a payout can be released. This may include document verification and a live photo check to confirm the identity of the person receiving the payout.
If it's been 8 business days after the event and you still haven't been paid

Check your payment status. Go to Payments and find your sale. Review your expected payout date.
If you don't see your payout, make sure you've set up a preferred payout method. In your Settings, under Payout options, confirm the payout method is correct. If you don't have a payout option, select Add new payout option and link to PayPal or your bank account.

If you sold a mobile transfer ticket and haven't been paid
We may need proof of transfer before we can process your payout. Check your inbox for an email from Seatpin asking for proof of transfer. Accepted proof of transfer includes a screenshot of the email confirmation you received from the external account, or a screenshot of your external account showing the tickets were transferred.
If you're a United States based seller and haven't provided a TIN (Taxpayer Identification Info) as requested
As of January 1, 2025, all U.S. sellers must provide a TIN to receive payment. See Overview of 1099-K Regulations.
Payout troubleshooting
If you received a notification that your payment failed
Your payment may have failed because your banking details are incorrect. Go to your Settings. Under Payout options, confirm your bank transfer details. Make sure your account accepts the currency your tickets are listed in. Your payment will be in this currency.
If your bank transfer payout is unclaimed
Your payout can be reissued once the funds are returned to Seatpin in 30 days. Update your default payout method to avoid future delays.

Go to your Settings.
Under Payout options, select Add New Payment Method.
Choose "Bank transfer" and connect to your bank account.

After 30 days, we'll issue your payout to this account within 13 days.
PayPal troubleshooting
If you received a notification that your payment failed
The PayPal email address in your Seatpin settings may be wrong.

Go to your Settings.
Under Payout options, confirm the email address is associated with PayPal.
If the email address is wrong: Select Add new payout option and link your PayPal account. When asked to set this payout method as your default, choose "Yes."
If the email address is correct: Log into PayPal to check your account settings and make sure you've verified your account with PayPal. If the payment is "on hold," contact PayPal to release the payment.

If your PayPal payout is unclaimed
Payouts are usually unclaimed when you don't have a PayPal account linked to the email address in your payout settings. Unclaimed funds should be claimed in PayPal within 30 days.

Go to your Settings.
Under Payout options, review the email address set to receive PayPal payouts.
If you haven't, create a PayPal account using that email address.
Confirm your email address to claim your funds. Visit PayPal for instructions.

What are the 2025 1099-K and TIN requirements?

There are two 2025 updates: Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) requirements, and who can expect a 1099-K form.
2025 Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) requirements
Starting January 1, 2025, all U.S. sellers must provide a Tax Identification Number (TIN) to receive payment, under state and federal tax laws. Payouts for all sales, regardless of sale volume, will process after you've added your TIN to your Seatpin account.
To add your TIN:

Go to Settings.
At the bottom of Payment & payout options, enter your information under "Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) Info".

2025 1099-K form
For tax year 2025, the IRS announced that sellers who reached $20,000 in sales and whose number of transactions exceeds 200 will receive a 1099-K form. If you meet that threshold, you can expect an electronic version of the form in your Seatpin Settings by January 31, 2026.
Frequently asked questions
How can I find my TIN?
Your TIN may be your Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN) if you sell tickets under a business. Learn more at IRS.gov.
Do I need to enter my TIN every year?
No. You only need to enter your TIN once, unless the information changes. Sellers outside of the U.S. who request an exemption from reporting must request the exemption again each tax year.
When will I get paid for my sales?
Review the information in Payouts section in your Seatpin profile.
It has been more than 8 business days and I still have not been paid. What should I check?
First, double-check that your payment information is up to date by following Updating your default payment method to sell tickets. If your payment settings are correct, you may need to provide your TIN before Seatpin can release your payment. In Settings, at the bottom of Payment & payout options, enter your information in the "Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) Info" section.
How do you calculate whether I made over $20,000 in sales?
If you reached $20,000 in sales in 2025 and your number of transactions exceeds 200, you'll have access to an electronic version of your 1099-K form in your Settings starting January 31, 2026. Your ticket sales for the year are based on the date you were paid, not the sale date. Your gross payments are the total of your Seatpin sales for the year before any seller fees are deducted. When calculating gross payments, we don't factor in the purchase price of the tickets you sold or adjustments such as credits, discounts, fees, refunds, cancelled events, or substitutions.
Where can I find my sales history?
On a computer, go to Sell, then Past Sales.
I did not receive a 1099-K. Where is it?
You'll only receive a 1099-K form if you meet the threshold above. If you were paid through PayPal, you'll receive the 1099-K from PayPal directly.
Is my TIN secure on Seatpin?
The information you enter on Seatpin is secured under applicable privacy laws. To help protect your information, don't share your TIN by email or chat, and don't provide it over the phone.
Do my ticket sales affect my tax filings?

Where can I find my expected payout for a listing?

You can see the amount you'll receive if your tickets sell in the "Payout" section.

Go to User area.
Find the payouts section.
Your expected payout appears under the price you set per ticket.

Why was I charged for a cancelled sale?

Accepted Answer

If your Seatpin sale was cancelled, check the email we sent you for the details.
Under our Seller Policies, we may charge your card if you can't send the tickets as promised.

How do I change the payment method for my Seatpin listings?

You can update your seller payment method in Settings.

Go to Settings.
The "Payment" tab opens automatically.
Under "Payment options for selling tickets":

To use a payment option you already have on file, select "Set As Default" next to the one you want.
To add a new payment option, select "Add New Payment Method." Then choose PayPal or Bank transfer, and complete the setup steps. When you're asked to make this your default payment method, choose "Yes."

How do I fix the bank account for payout?

If you entered the wrong bank account for payout, delete the current bank account details and add the correct one.
To add a new bank account:

Go to Settings (on the Seatpin website, tap the first drop-down menu to see it).
The "Payment" tab opens automatically.
Under "Payment options for selling tickets," select "Add New Payment Method".
Select "Bank transfer" and follow the steps.

If you don't see your bank in the drop-down menu when you enter your bank details, choose "Other" in the middle of the list. It's in alphabetical order.
After you make the changes, we'll re-process your payment within 3 business days.

Will Seatpin email me when my tickets sell?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your listed tickets sell on Seatpin, we'll send you a courtesy email.
You're still responsible for your listings and sales if you miss the email.

My PayPal email is wrong, what should I do?

Accepted Answer

We can't change the payment method for sales that are already processing.
You can add the wrong email address to your PayPal account, which is the fastest way to get paid:

Log in to your PayPal account.
Select the gear icon.
Under "Email," select the "+" sign.
Add the email address, then select "Add email."

For payments that haven't started processing, update your PayPal email address in your Seatpin account and tell us. This can add 3-5 business days:

The "Payment" tab opens automatically.
Under "Payment options for selling tickets," select "Add New Payment Method" then "PayPal".
Follow the steps to link your account with Seatpin.

For future payments, update your PayPal email address in your Seatpin account:
