2026 World Cup FAQ
Ticket delivery
When will I get my World Cup tickets?
When you place your order, we'll show the latest date the seller expects to deliver your tickets. For the World Cup, tickets are often delivered close to the event date, and sometimes on the day of the match. Some sellers have multiple tickets for sale and are waiting for the event organizer to assign exact seats to Category tickets so they can match your order with seats together. We know the wait can be hard, especially for the World Cup. Your order is protected by our PinSafe Guarantee. In the rare case there is an issue, we'll do our best to get you in with new tickets, or offer a full refund.
How do I get my tickets?
How your tickets arrive depends on the ticket type you bought. We'll email detailed instructions when your tickets are ready. Most tickets will be electronic tickets transferred through the event organizer's app. To keep delivery secure and straightforward, we'll give you a temporary email address to use when accepting the tickets. That helps us make sure the seller sends the correct tickets.
To accept your tickets:
- Create a World Cup account using the temporary email address we provided.
- Verify the account. We'll forward the authentication email to the email address you used for your Seatpin purchase.
- Open your World Cup Account Settings > Profile and complete the required personal details. This step is required. After you save, you'll be redirected to the homepage and you'll see the ticket transfer.
- Open your tickets in the World Cup app. Go to My Tickets > Marketplace - Resell/Exchange. After you access the tickets, you can transfer them to your personal World Cup account if you prefer.
How do I transfer tickets to another account?
- Log in to the event organizer's app with the account that holds your tickets.
- Go to fifa.com/tickets > Tickets > Resale Marketplace
- Use the Ticket Transfer feature to send the tickets.
If you sold these tickets on Seatpin, we'll provide the buyer's email address.
Seating information
Why don't my tickets show specific seats?
Right now, the World Cup is selling tickets by Category instead of exact seat, so you can't pick a specific seat when you buy. The ticket Category refers to a certain area in the stadium, as shown on Seatpin and World Cup maps. Those maps are for guidance only and may not be exact. Once the event organizer assigns seats, your ticket in the World Cup app will update with that information. Under the World Cup's Ticket Terms of Sale, the World Cup may reassign your seats at any time, including after purchase and on match day, as long as the new seats are in the same category or a higher-priced category.
Will my seats be together?
The event organizer tries to place seats from the same transaction together. Even so, seats can still end up in different rows, sections, or areas within the Category.
What if I want different seats after seats are assigned?
If you want different seats, you can resell your tickets on Seatpin and buy new ones. You can't request different assigned seats or get a refund. The event organizer doesn't offer seat changes or refunds either.
Cancellations and refunds
Can I cancel my order?
Seatpin sales are final. After the sale is complete, you can't change, cancel, or return an order. This also applies if you:
- Can no longer attend
- Bought tickets for the wrong event
- Bought too many tickets
- Found cheaper tickets elsewhere
- Want to exchange tickets for a different day or event
Can I resell tickets I bought on Seatpin?
Yes. You can resell tickets you bought on Seatpin even if you haven't received them yet.
Event and venue information
What can I bring into the venue?
Each venue has its own rules about what you can and can't bring. Check the venue's website before you go so you're prepared for entry.
Buying tickets on Seatpin
Is it safe to buy World Cup tickets on Seatpin?
Yes. Seatpin is the world's largest ticket marketplace, with over 50 million ticket listings for sports, concerts, theater, and more. We've helped hundreds of thousands of fans attend the last three World Cups. All orders are protected by our PinSafe Guarantee. In the rare case there's an issue with your order, we'll make it right with comparable or better tickets, or your money back.
How do I know if my tickets are valid?
Our PinSafe Guarantee means you'll receive your tickets in time for the event, or we'll make it right with replacement tickets or your money back. We use strict policies and fraud prevention processes to help make sure all tickets on Seatpin are valid. Our Seller Policies require sellers to only list valid tickets, provide accurate information in the ticket listing, and fulfill orders with the correct tickets in time for the event.
How can Seatpin have tickets before fans can buy all of them?
Sellers can get tickets before the general on sale in a number of ways, including through relationships with teams and venues. Sellers have no incentive to list fake tickets. Our Seller Policies require sellers to only list valid tickets, provide accurate information in the ticket listing, and fulfill orders with the correct tickets in time for the event.
Can I buy multiple tickets for the World Cup?
The World Cup limits ticket purchases to a maximum of 4 tickets per household per day, and 40 tickets in total per household across the entire World Cup tournament. All tickets tied to the same postal address count toward the household limit. You can place multiple orders on Seatpin, but it's your sole responsibility to make sure you do not exceed these maximum ticket allowances.
Other FAQs
What are the visa requirements if I'm traveling to another country for a match?
Your match ticket is not a visa and does not guarantee that you'll be granted a visa. For more information, check the host country's government website: Canada, USA, Mexico. We strongly encourage you to submit visa applications as early as possible because processing times can vary. If you can't get the required visa or travel authorization, or if you're denied entry into the country, you aren't entitled to a refund or other compensation for your tickets. If your visa application needs proof of event attendance, use your order confirmation email.
What do hospitality tickets include?
Hospitality tickets come with different perks depending on the lounge type, Pitchside Lounge, Trophy Lounge, Champions Club, or Pavillion, and the venue. Check the Perks section of the listing for an overview of what's included. For more information, see On Location's (the official hospitality provider of the World Cup) FAQs.
How can I get World Cup ticket updates from Seatpin?
For order and event updates, we'll email the address you used to buy your tickets.
